Media Rules, Regulations & Information
VIDEO POLICY
The Penn Relays Office (the "Office"), on behalf of The Trustees of the University of Pennsylvania, owns the exclusive rights to all video coverage of all happenings on the event premises. Office policy is to disallow any video recordings of races, participants, VIPs, Carnival Village, crowds or any other happenings on the event premises, and no video may be reproduced or distributed for mass distribution or commercial use without the Office's prior written consent. This does not apply to news outlets, providing their own analysis or reporting, on the condition that such footage features a reporter or interview subject as the primary focus of the frame. In such situations it is allowable to have the races, participants, VIPs, Carnival Village, crowds or other happenings on the event premises as the background to the primary subject. It is also permissible for participants, VIPs, Carnival Village, crowds or other happenings on the event premises to be the primary subject for television-only broadcasts limited to no more than 90-seconds. Under no circumstances shall any race or event be broadcast, whether in the background or otherwise, in its entirety.
Live streaming video is not allowed under any circumstances.
Violation of these limits will result in the Penn Relays Office's taking appropriate action to protect its rights.
