Quotes

Q:Could you just go over the last lap of your race?
A: Phoebe Wright- "That was funny. I was fine with 400 to go. The announcer said something like 'with a 1/4 to go, 3 people are in it, the person with the faster 1/4 speeds gonna win it' and i was like 'i got this in the bag'....and i felt she would come up on me and i had to do a little gut check and respond to it. I thought about a speed workout we did like a week ago and i just closed it."

Q:Did she pass you or catch you? (on the final lap)
A: Phoebe Wright- "I felt her come on and I wanted to keep her on the outside on the turn so i tried to respond immediately."

Q:You mentioned a speed workout, could you describe what that was?
A: Phoebe Wright- "It was just a broken 400 with short rest."

On running yesterday and her leg of the race today...
Jackie Areson- "I knew all I had to do was run my best, and I knew all I had to do was run like i did yesterday, because yesterday I had a PR, and I knew if I did that again today I would have a good race. I think I ran around the same pace as I did yesterday, so I'm happy with that. I've never been able to double like that so I'm really happy how it went and am glad I ran patient."

On feeling ill before the event...
Chanelle Price- "I had not a lot of quantity workouts but a lot of quality workouts to prove to coach and I couldn't miss coming home to The Penn Relays, so at those workouts I just worked my butt off to prove to myself....I had to be here."

J.J Clark opening statement- "There's nothing really to say. It was a great great race. Last year was different, we were chasing, and today we were in front and they just blocked all that out and congratulations to this team."
