Quotes

1st Leg: Charlton Rolle
I knew that it was important for us to be in the lead coming out of the first leg and that my team could carry the momentum. I felt really good out there. The crowd was great to run with.... We are all running again next year, so... there's more to come....

2nd Leg: Claudio Delli Carpini
(Freshman) I'm from New York City, so I've been at the Relays before. I knew what to expect. But this is my first time being competitive here. Last year, as a highschool senior, I had a tight hamstring competing in the long-jump. The hurdles is my primary event. It felt great out here today. Charlton gave us a monstrous lead off. I felt good coming out of the blocks, and ok in the middle but a little sloppy at the finish. We were going for the record. Our usual team includes Spencer Adams. But Spencer had a tight hamstring and has been training with the football team (he's a safety), so he couldn't be here. But we were still hoping to go for the record.

3rd Leg: Marcus Maxey
(Freshman) This was pretty exciting. I was nervous because we didn't get to see the track yesterday, and I didn't know what to expect. But the track is fantastic. Its also the biggest crowd I ever competed before. I'm from Athens, Georgia, and have never been to the Relays. My best time is 13.9, so with my team I thought we had a good chance at the record. But we'll be back again next year.... We also won the relays event in Floriday this year.

4th Leg: Miller Moss
I thought the guys did a great job getting and holding the lead. But I knew Nebraska would have their fastest guy in the anchor leg... I could hear that he was catching me with the crowd noise. And I felt tense at the end of the race trying to hold him off. But I was able to sprint off the last hurdle to hold him off... I am a decathalete, so I don't usually run this event. I'm an alternate for Spencer Adams who couldn't race... But hurdles is one of my better events.... Its my third time at the Relays. Its great to complete here.
